Beyond the Canvas is more than just an art walk; it is an extravaganza celebrating the many mediums of art and the vibrancy of the community. Art isn’t limited to the stroke of a brush or the frame of a canvas and our event will showcase just that. We welcome art admirers and collectors, performing art enthusiasts, and casual strollers to join us for this extraordinary evening!

An artist talk and reception with John Gibson during the Coast Village Road Art Walk, celebrating his new series of paintings. Join us for an engaging evening with the artist and a preview of this compelling new body of work. Wines will be poured by Folded Hills Winery beginning at 5 p.m.
Clark’s Oyster Bar

Pedro De La Cruz will be Painting on the Porch. Born in Baja California, Pedro remembers the joy he felt when he opened his first box of crayons. His art is colorful and impactful to the community.

Meet Local jewelry designer Janey Cinzori has followed her passion for the love of the ocean and its surroundings. She has worked in the field of the arts and design in Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz and Maui for over 30 years. Her designs will be on display and for sale.

Featuring local artist Betzhi Walton,who will lead a bird watercolor demonstration and will have an assortment of paintings will be available for purchase.
Peregrine
Featuring Artist Karen De La Peña. This accomplished artist is a multi-award-winning painter recognized for her expressive work in both studio and plein air. She received the prestigious Douglas Shively Award for Excellence at the Santa Paula Art Exhibition in both 2013 and 2014, as well as the People’s Choice Award. Her work has been exhibited widely, including the Faulkner Gallery in Santa Barbara, Olivas Adobe Gallery, and Pierpont Inn in Ventura, and is currently shown exclusively at Peregrine Galleries in Montecito.Her training includes workshops and studies with notable artists such as Dan Schultz, Aimee Erickson, and Margaret Dyer. Her work is held in private collections across the U.S. and Europe and has been featured in publications like Stitching with Beatrix Potter by Michelle Hill.

Ralph Waterhouse
After a successful career in graphic design, Ralph turned his focus to painting—first capturing the wildlife and landscapes of England’s Lake District, then later the golden light of California’s coast. Internationally recognized, his work has been featured in major publications, on BBC Television, and in exhibitions across the U.S. and Europe. Ralph paints both en plein air and in studio, aiming to capture the peaceful beauty of nature. He has received numerous awards, public commissions, and was honored to present a painting to Margaret Thatcher on behalf of the British Consul. A founding member of the Santa Barbara Art Dealers Association, Ralph currently co-chairs the California Art Club’s Central Coast Chapter with his wife and business partner, Diane.
John Comer
John Comer has been painting since he was a boy. His dedication to painting and surfing has been the driving passion of his life. A true waterman, he also spent many years sailing & fishing commercially.
In the tradition of plein-aire painters who have celebrated early California, his work is distinguished by a level of craft rarely seen in contemporary painting, his landscapes are both skillful renditions of familiar and unfamiliar scenes, and subtle meditations on time, space, and light.
